The NSDAP Reichsparteitage, or Reich Party Day, actually wasnt a day at all, but a week-long celebration of the NSDAP and all of its Party organizations. Even those only casually familiar with Nazi Germany are familiar with the Reichsparteitage thru the monumental, groundbreaking film of the 1934 rally, the Triumph of the Will. Some of the most enduring images of Hitlers Germany are taken directly from these celebrations, with the mass formations of the SA, the SS, and the endless parades spread out over the week. Likely the most identifiable of the NSDAP symbolism are the Deutschland Erwache (Germany Awake!) standartes. During each of the annual rallies in a display of solemn respect for the fallen martyrs of the NSDAP, Hitler personally consecrated each DE Standarte unveiled that year with the Blutfahne, or blood-flag, which was carried during the original attempt on power. It is said that the DEs were so sacred to the movement, that they were not to fall into enemy hands at any cost during and after the war. These are now considered the pinnacle of collecting. Here is a very rare accessory to the DE Standarte, a streamer used only during the most notorious of them all, 1934 Parteitage. Made from the same material as an original DE, this is an extremely rare, exotic piece. As complete DE Standartes approach the $100k price range, and the flag itself usually $30k or more, this is an affordable piece for those who may never own an original, or a must-have accessory for one of the very fortunate few to own a DE. This is one of less than 5 known originals to surface after the war and the second I am able to offer in the last couple of months. An example of this streamer can be found in Ulric of Englands comprehensive DE reference book, on page 285 (D.E. 1934 Streamer)
