Golden Party Badge 24mm # 1175
Golden Party Badge 24mm # 1175
The Golden Party badge was arguably the 2nd highest NSDAP award given, and was created to honor those who joined the Party early on. The badge was only available to Party members with membership numbers below the first 100,000 and who rendered uninterrupted service since 1925. Regulations eventually relaxed nominally, but suffice it to say, a Golden Party Badge wearer was treated with enormous regard in National Socialist Germany.
The badge was awarded in the smaller 24mm size, and the larger 30mm proportion. This GPB is the 24mm with the rare button hole device. Number 62609 purported to have belonged to party member Muller of Kiel. Deschler & Sohn of Munich was the maker.
