Golden Party Badge #1592 belonging to SS Standartenfuhrer and Deputy Gauleiter Anton Mundler # 5053
N.S.D.A.P. Gold Party
Badge 25mm. Gold on wreath is more pronounced. Reverse is marked "DESCHLER
MUNCHEN" and is numbered "1592" (an early Party member).
Horizontal pin with an oval base. (Number 1592 – Anton Mundler – Deputy Gauleiter of Swabia from 1942 to
1945 and an N.S.D.A.P. Member of the
Reichstag representing Upper Bavaria-Swabia from 1933-45. He was also an
officer of the SS, number 351376. The DAL of November 1944 lists him as holding
the rank of SS-Standartenfuhrer on
the staff of Ab. XXXII. With such a low N.S.D.A.P. member's number he was among
the very first to be registered in 1925 when the Party was reorganized, though
he was not listed as a recipient of the Blood Order. To have held the position
of Deputy Gauleiter, Mundler was
probably politically inclined throughout his years in the NSDAP. While Karl
Wahl was the only person to hold the position of Gauleiter of Swabia, Mundler
was the fourth and last man to hold the deputy's position. He also was awarded
an SS ring-not included). With 38 Xerox pages of documents from his McDivitt BDC file.
