Early Third Reich SA Sturmfähne # 8394
This early SA flag is for the 21st Sturm- Standarte 1 which was under the direction “Ostfriesland” and was part of Brigade 63 (Oldenburg Ostfriesland). Their first headquarters was in Aurich (1935/36) then in Emden (1937) and then later back to Aurich again. The additional patches seen were Standarte 2 (1937) which was at Nordsee and located at Emden. Before that, the headquarters were at Meppen. It certainly is the first flag granted to Standarte 1. Size is approx. 45" X 54" wide.
