Adolf Hitler Picture # 1138
- Availability: available
Adolf Hitler'ss popularity amongst the German population during the Third Reich can be largely attributed to his disregard of the detested, oppressive Treaty of Versailles and his determination to see Germany's international reputation restored. As the Head of Government, (a position of admiration, respect, & esteem in any community), his likeness was reproduced in a wide variety of poses, attire, and background by Germany's leading artists and photographers to convey his solemn sense of duty, solitude, and strength. Upon the conclusion of the war, most of these were destroyed, and much of those remaining have been lost to time. Hitler remains a controversial figure, but all who knew him say his presence was large and captivating, and this seems to have been adequately captured even in portraits.
These were very popular in their day and remain highly desirable by todays collectors and historians, both for their rarity and their quality. The portrait here is guaranteed of the era and remains in an extraordinary state of preservation. The nature and subject of these portraits make each of these appropriate in any themed collection room or study: Wehrmacht, State, or Party.
